Meet Our President
As President, Dr. Elizabeth Hernandez leads the execution of the organization’s mission in three focal points: Empowering underserved communities, supporting aspiring musicians, and uplifting Hispanic women pursuing business degrees. Dr. Hernandez oversees the foundation’s day-to-day operations, working closely with the leadership team to ensure the effective implementation of the foundation’s programs and initiatives. With over four decades of work experience across public and private sectors, Dr. Hernandez brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in education, organizational leadership, human behavior, philanthropy, advocacy, and community engagement to enhance the foundation’s impact.
However, Dr. Hernandez’ journey to success has not been without challenges. She understands the difficulties and obstacles faced by Hispanic women on their path to success. As a minority female teenager and English language learner in high school, she endured hostility, bullying, and discrimination—experiences that ignited her lifelong passion for advocating human rights for Hispanic youth. These early adversities fortified her resolve to confront inequities, instilling a deep-rooted determination and purpose that has guided her advocacy for Hispanic women’s rights throughout her career.
Dr. Elizabeth Hernandez’ extensive work experience and diverse skill set uniquely position her to excel in her role as President. Her background as a former beauty pageant queen, TV personality, published author, international lecturer, philanthropist, human rights advocate, and empowerment specialist underscores her ability to connect with diverse audiences and inspire positive change.
Moreover, Dr. Hernandez’ academic achievements equip her with the strategic acumen and critical thinking skills necessary to lead effectively. Her commitment to empowering Hispanic women and advocating for diversity aligns seamlessly with the foundation’s mission, ensuring that underrepresented voices are heard and uplifted. As President, Dr. Hernandez will leverage her expertise, passion, and vision to drive meaningful impact, foster inclusivity, and advance the foundation’s goals of empowerment and social change. As President of the Jazz Hamilton Arts Foundation, I vow to lead with integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Drawing from over four decades of professional experience in the arts, academia, and advocacy, I am committed to harnessing my expertise to propel our foundation towards greater heights of impact and innovation.
I will work earnestly to ensure that our foundation continues to thrive and make a meaningful impact in our community. Leveraging my higher education academic background in Organizational Leadership and Human Behavior, alongside my extensive experience as a former beauty pageant queen, TV personality, published author, and global change agent, I am dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and cultural enrichment within our organization.
Together, we will expand access to music education creating opportunities for aspiring musicians to pursue their dreams and unlock their full potential. Building upon my commitment to empowering and advocating for diversity and inclusion of Hispanic women and underrepresented individuals from diverse backgrounds in the music and business fields, I will strengthen our partnerships with local organizations, schools, and community centers to reach more Hispanic women and aspiring musicians from all backgrounds.
Our goal as it relates to those aspiring an education in music performance is to provide tangible support, mentorship, and resources to empower these individuals to pursue their passion for music irrespective of their diverse backgrounds. With a deep understanding of the transformative power of music and its ability to heal, inspire, and uplift communities, I will lead efforts to bring underserved communities into concert halls to experience our live music performances firsthand, offering opportunities historically unavailable to them.
With gratitude for the trust placed in me, I commit to harnessing the collective talents and passions of our team, donors, and supporters. Together, we will create a legacy of inspiration, empowerment, and cultural enrichment that resonates far beyond our walls. Through collaborative action and unwavering determination, we will shape a future where the arts flourish and every individual has the opportunity to thrive—building bridges through cultural divides through shared artistic experiences and the celebration of our common humanity.
