In our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Jazz Hamilton Arts Foundation launched the Jazz Hamilton DEI Symphony Initiative,
an ambitious endeavor aimed at bridging the gap between privilege and potential in the world of music. By providing aspiring musicians from
underrepresented communities and diverse backgrounds with the opportunity to collaborate and perform alongside renowned artists, this
initiative seeks to redefine the symphony of success, one note at a time.
Through the Jazz Hamilton DEI Symphony Initiative participants have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, develop their skills, and
connect with peers and mentors in the music industry. By bringing together diverse voices and talents, we aim to create inclusive and dynamic
music performances that celebrate the richness of our diversity and shared human experience. At the Jazz Hamilton Arts Foundation, our
aim is to empower participants from diverse backgrounds to pursue their musical aspirations with confidence and determination, equipped
with the experience and connections gained through their involvement in the Jazz Hamilton DEI Symphony Initiative.
Select participants from communities where we perform “Music for All” Community Outreach concerts and provide them with opportunities to audition for the Jazz Hamilton DEI Symphony.
Offer rehearsal and performance opportunities for Jazz Hamilton DEI Symphony participants during our “Music for All” events,
providing them with the support and guidance they need to succeed in collaborative music making.
Pair participants with experienced mentors who can offer guidance, feedback, and support throughout the rehearsal and performance
process.
Create opportunities for Jazz Hamilton DEI Symphony participants to engage with audiences and communities through our “Music for
All” concerts, fostering connections and promoting dialogue around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts.
