Mrs. Maribel Gonzalez, a seasoned advocate for human rights and community betterment, brings over three decades of work experience to her role as Secretary of the Board for the Jazz Hamilton Arts Foundation. Secretary Gonzalez holds a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), a Bachelor in Theological Sciences, and is a Paralegal graduate of the Universidad Sagrado Corazón de Puerto Rico. She is a founding member and permanent advisor of the Lions Club Los Altagracianos in Higüey, Dominican Republic. With a relentless dedication to social justice, Secretary Gonzalez has dedicated her career to empowering underserved communities and championing cultural enrichment. 

 

Throughout her tenure, Secretary Gonzalez has served as a tireless champion for human rights, leveraging cultural experiences and skill training to uplift underprivileged women who are survivors of domestic violence. Focused on the Caribbean region, her work extends beyond legal advocacy as she spearheads initiatives to reintroduce survivors to a sense of normalcy and community reintegration. Gonzalez’ efforts include securing resources for schooling, childcare, and mental health counseling, ensuring survivors have the support they need to thrive. 

In addition to her legal background, Secretary Gonzalez has played pivotal roles in various community boards and served as a community leader and liaison for educational institutions. Her multifaceted expertise in civic engagement, community liaison, and legal advocacy uniquely positions her to drive positive change within our organization and beyond.

As Secretary to the Board for the Jazz Hamilton Arts Foundation, Gonzalez oversees administrative functions, maintains accurate records, and fosters communication among board members and stakeholders. Her leadership is guided by a passion for equity and inclusion, aligning seamlessly with our mission to provide cultural enrichment and educational opportunities for all.
