Ms. Denise Figueroa’s extensive experience as a professional musician, educator, and advocate uniquely positions her to excel in her role as Vice President of our foundation. Her background in education, particularly her role as a director of schools serving underserved communities, demonstrates her commitment to equity and access in education. Ms. Figueroa’s efforts to revamp the curriculum and introduce music programs have positively impacted countless students, highlighting her dedication to enriching educational experiences.
As Vice President, Ms. Denise Figueroa will leverage her leadership skills and passion for music to drive our foundation’s mission forward. With a successful career in music performance, collaborating with numerous orchestras, quintets, bands, and ensembles across the Caribbean and the United States, Ms. Figueroa brings a wealth of expertise and insight into the transformative power of music. VP Figueroa music education background is in French Horn Interpretation and Music Performance from the Conservatory of Music in Puerto Rico, New World School of the Arts, and Florida Atlantic University.
An academic team leader, VP Figueroa’s dedication to educational equity led her to serve as an advisor for elementary and middle schools in the southern part of the United States, particularly focusing on supporting immigrating students who only speak Spanish and Portuguese. In the words of Vice President Figueroa, “Serving with intention and compassion, I am dedicated to nurturing our foundation’s mission of empowerment and cultural enrichment, ensuring that talented individuals from underrepresented populations have access to the transformative benefits of education, music, and arts.” As Vice President, Ms. Denise Figueroa continues to inspire others with her boundless enthusiasm for music and her unwavering dedication to advancing the mission of The Jazz Hamilton Arts Foundation.
